A Business with Family Values at our Core
T G Howell & Sons started its life back in 1956, when the company began manufacturing wooden ladders at a small family site in South Wales. After a few years, we began to diversify our offering and started producing timber props and cover boards for the coal mines across the South Wales Valleys. As the scale our business continued to grow, over the years we expanded our operations to sawmill fencing materials, such as; featheredge, posts and rails. This allowed us to open multiple locations in Newport, Pontypool and Risca.
Over 67 years later, there’s nothing that we don’t know about timber! Our business now operates at two merchant sites, located in Newport and Pontypool, and a five acre wholesale distribution yard where we specialise in timber treatment. It's important to us that all of our timber comes from fully sustainable sources. That's why work work hard with our suppliers to ensure products we supply are FSC certified.
